About Artwork Third Line Passenger No29
Sometimes the boredom of the society, which is in the various relationships of people, engages you deeply. For me, it seems reproducing the boredom is the only way to get away from it. I took pictures of passengers in Tehran’s subway by my cell phone and used them as a pictorial reference for my new painting series: the inflamed mass of tired bodies in the boredom between two nothings, Humans who get hurt from their contractual responsibilities, take refuge in their own loneliness. The presence in the enclosed space of the subway – as a waiting room- give them a short break to be alone with their mind and bodies before replaying their usual role in next station. Painting their portraits was like split open their mask and it was a way for me to find a common sense that had different forms in different faces.
